[CALL FOR PARTICIPATION]
Mini Session on Data Curation and the Market of Data
2nd European Workshop on Chance Discovery and Data Synthesis (EWCDDS16) in ECAI2016
Date: 29th August 2016, 15:30--17:30
Place: World Forum, Johan de Wittlaan 42-44, 2517 JR Den Haag (the Hague), Netherlands
Abstract:
The usage of data and the exchange of data have come to be discussed and active in the Market of Data. However, a method to discover data related to someone’s actions from the accumulation of massive small data in the world has not been established. Therefore, there is the gap between users who want to discover data related to their interests and data holders who want to provide their data. In this mini session of EWCDDS16, we will discuss “Data Curation in the Market of Data”, which is the management of data collected from various sources including not only public data but also private data stored by private companies or individuals. In the first half of this session, we will show some practical examples of the gaps between data users and data holders, and discuss the necessity of Data Curation. In the second half, we will conduct the brief workshop to consider a method for selecting valuable data by extracting latent requirements from the data users' requests. This se
ssion is open to all the participants in ECAI2016.
